Ex Libris - a radio report
Author: Adam Szumilak Production: Adam Mickiewicz Institute, 2008, 24 min Executive production: Against Gravity Artistic supervision: Maciej Drygas, Mateusz Werner The material focuses on the character of Andrzej Kudesz who left Poland with his wife and child in 1969 and returned after 30 years in order to start a new life – with a new wife, in a village near Wroclaw. The report tells a tale of Andrzej’s love for Poland, Polish culture and… women. As a part of the „Farewells and Returns” project, the material shows the story of a man who returned to a country to which he never really said goodbye. „Ten years ago I would spit in my own face myself, if I had said something like this, but today I think that people should die where they were born” - Andrzej Kudesz, fragment of the report
